Moscow 2020

19th IPHS Conference, Moscow, Russia. [cancelled]

July 5-8, 2020

Conference theme:  ‘City Space Transformation: Renovation of The Urban Environment’.

Convener: Alexey V. Krasheninnikov.

The 19th International Planning History Society (IPHS) Conference due to be held in Moscow from 5-8 July 2020 has been cancelled because of the COVID-19 pandemic. The decision has been made with much regret, but in recognition of our extraordinary global circumstances and because our priority is the health, well-being and safety of IPHS conference delegates and of the people who support the organisation and facilitation of the conference.

Instead, the 19th IPHS conference will be held in early July 2022 and convened from Moscow by Professor Alexey Krasheninnikov of the Moscow Architectural Institute (MARHI). The conference will take mainly a virtual format. The exact dates and further information will be made available as soon as possible via the IPHS and the conference websites as well as by email directly to members.

People who have submitted abstracts and papers for the 2020 conference will be contacted by the conference organisers through the EasyChair email system, and the Concord Group will contact those who have registered. Questions relating to the cancellation of the conference may be directed to the Concord Group through either Marina Vasileva: or Olga Ikonnikova:

Take care and all the very best in the challenging and turbulent times being faced across the world.
